Karina Synytsia

KARINA SYNYTSIA

Born in the city of Severodonetsk (Luhansk region) in 1999, and currently lives and works in Kyiv. From 2015 to 2019, she studied at the department of Fine Arts of the Kharkiv Art College, majoring in painting. In 2023, she graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture (NAFAA) with a degree in monumental and easel painting.

As an artist, Karina Synytsia works primarily with painting, with a particular focus on monumental techniques, especially wall painting. Her works depict architectural structures and landscapes, emphasizing emptiness, void, and the decline of spaces and objects. However, architectural elements in her pieces appear as decorations of urban environments rather than central subjects. Instead, the core of her works lies in the manifestation of human emotions, emotional states, and social aspects of life.

She has participated in group exhibitions, including “The Woman Question. 1550–2025” at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw (Muzeum Sztuki Nowoczesnej w Warszawie, Poland). In Artsvit Gallery she held a solo exhibition «Welcome to Paradise” (Dnipro, Ukraine). Her works are also featured in the second edition of the Ukrainian section of the Secondary Archive, as well as in the archival projects The Sky Is Open. Voices From Ukraine and Ukraine Ablaze (Mala Gallery, Mystetskyi Arsenal).
