Before the full-scale drowning on 24 February, I was more likely to document spaces in my practice. I created mirages from pieces of what I had seen, adding the living as a staff for the development of a city or an empty room.
This painting, for example, depicts a collective image of an eastern Ukrainian city. The building is the House of Culture in the city of Dnipro on the left bank, and the fountain in front of it is fictional.
